Flash back..

I will be relocating to Cardiff in a few days time.. Its been a wonderful 6 years in Newcastle; exhilarating, frustrating, challenging and tiring.. Looking back, I have no regrets.. May be, given a choice, I would have done a few things differently but I guess they were meant to be that way for me to learn each and every lesson..

i spent 4 years with omer, a very close friend who now lives in new york.. he made my life a lot easier especially when you are staying away from family and have no one you could depend on.. he is more like family now than just a friend..

i also got an opportunity to do an internship with both hewlett packard and sun labs and I really enjoyed that time..

the time i spent at northumbria.. meeting so many people, making new friends, studying in an environment so different from the ones back in India.. all this made for a very stimulating and fun filled experience..

A very touching gesture..

I had a surprise call from my Dean asking me to meet up with her.. When I turned up, all my lecturers were there to congratulate me on my new job and wish me farewell.. They gifted me a pair of cufflings with the university logo embedded on it.. I felt really happy that my effort over the years have been appreciated and I have left an impression, i say positive, on the people here at my university.. I really feel sad that I will be leaving this place but there are more challenges to look forward to and some interesting times ahead that offsets the sadness..

Happy moment..

I just got an email from a HR staff in Cardiff university conveying that my work permit has been approved.. Time to celebrate.. Not sure what to do though.. Lol.. I will probably take my friends out for a movie and dinner..

A huge relief..

Its 9.30 AM now.. I have in my possession two bound copies of my thesis which I am about to hand-in to the school office.. The enormity of the work carried out only sinks in as I see the thesis all printed and neatly bound.. It takes a while to realise all the work I have put in over the summer and its a huge relief turning in the thesis, as every student who has gone through this moment would testify.. Though there is the worry about the results, I am fairly happy that I have given it the best shot and am not burdening myself with undue pressure by focussing my thoughts on the grades being given out for my thesis work.. I have a couple of weeks to chill before I relocate to Cardiff from Newcastle to start my career as a fresh graduate with Cardiff University.. Have a couple of cricket matches lined up over the next two weekends and am looking forward to that..
